Since 2022, we have made an important commitment: to ensure that at least 30% of the fabrics in our collections are certified according to current sustainability standards. But that is just the beginning. We manufacture our garments from organic and recycled fabrics and materials.

The garments are packaged in biodegradable bags made from plants and non-toxic compostable resins. A plastic bag takes at least 100 years to decompose. Our compostable bags decompose in 6 months.

Be responsible. Be part fo the change.

The Textile Industry

The textile industry contributes significantly to climate change, with the greatest impact occurring during textile manufacturing. We are aware of the role brands play, and since 2022, we have committed to ensuring that 30% of the fabrics in our collections are certified according to current Sustainability Standards. This standard defines which low-impact criteria and low-residual chemicals (such as dyes, process auxiliaries, and finishes) are accepted for textiles produced and labeled in accordance with it. These are controlled and clean productions that generate less waste, use less water, and produce a minimal amount of waste. The goal of these standards is to try to define the requirements to ensure the cleanest possible productions and good working conditions, minimizing chemical and environmental impact. This includes spinning, weaving, and knitting companies, dyeing, printing, sewing, and packaging in more than 50 countries.

Organic Cotton

The certified organic cotton we use is grown without the use of toxic substances, synthetic pesticides, or genetically modified seeds. It takes many liters of water to produce the cotton needed for a single t-shirt. However, organic cotton uses a tenth of the water normally required; moreover, 95% of the water used for organic cotton cultivation is eco-friendly water (from rain or stored in the soil itself). Less than one percent of the cotton currently produced is organic. This cotton reduces allergic reactions, contributes to the care of our ecosystem, and the health of our producers.

Certified Fabrics

Grimey's certified recycled fabrics, both polyester and nylon, mostly come from recycled plastic bottles. The world produces approximately 300 million tons of plastic waste each year, and currently only 14% is collected for recycling. The goal of these fabrics is to promote the use of recycled materials for the production of garments that are less harmful to the environment.

Sustainable Packaging

Our environmental awareness drives us to use biodegradable bags made from plants and non-toxic compostable resins, and tags made from recyclable cardboard. A plastic bag takes at least thousands of years to decompose, whereas our bags only take 6 months.
